One holiday drink that is guaranteed to get you in the festive spirit is spiked eggnog. Our version of this Christmas classic is named Rock N’ Nog as it uses a fantastic local Florida rum called Rock N’ Rum from Rollins Distillery that is sweetened with rock candy. Trust us, this rum is special, and it will take your spiked eggnog to whole new level.
As well as local Florida rum, this recipe also uses local cane sugar from Florida Crystals in our homemade simple syrup. Help support local this Christmas and buy local. We hope you enjoy our Rock N’ Nog (Spiked Eggnog) recipe. Drink safe and Merry Christmas!
What Ingredients Do I Need To Make A Rock N’ Nog (Spiked Eggnog)?
The Alcohol
The Rum: The rum that gives this drink its name is Esprit de Krewe – Rock N’ Rum. Not only is the artwork on the label awesome, but the rum itself is spectacular. Sweetened with rock candy, this unique rum is perfect for festive drinks.
Esprit de Krewe – Rock N’ Rum is made by Rollins Distillery based in Gulf Breeze up in the Panhandle, and if you haven’t checked them out yet, then you are going to want to. This fantastic family run distillery makes a range of vodkas and rums named “Esprit de Krewe” that translates to “the spirit of the Krewe”. As soon as you have tried their liquors, you’ll see the passion that goes into making their spirits and will for sure want to join the Krewe. Support them by following them on Instagram and Facebook.
Where Can You Buy Rock N’ Rum? If you are up the Panhandle then the Esprit de Krewe range is stocked at: Fusion Fine Wine and Spirits, Richie’s, Flora-Bama Package store, Beach Liquors, Bambooze Wine and Spirits, The Liquor Cabinet, The Liquor Store, Perdido Liquors and Paradise Liquors.
If you aren’t up in the Panhandle then don’t worry, you can order Rock N’ Rum for delivery from Wine To Ship. They deliver to anywhere in Florida and you can save $10 off your first order of over $100 by using code: Get 10.

The Mixers
The Eggnog: This spiked eggnog recipe shows you how to make your very own eggnog from scratch by shaking whole eggs, heavy cream, ground nutmeg and ground cinnamon. Trust us, it tastes so much better than store-bought. That said, if you prefer to keep things easy and use store-bought eggnog, then you can use your favorite brand and simply shake it with the Rum.
The Sweetener: Simple syrup is super easy to make at home, so if you have sugar, water and 30 minutes to spare, then check out our recipe for homemade cane sugar simple syrup. All our simple syrup recipes use local organic Florida cane sugar from Florida Crystals. If you’d prefer to buy ready-made simple syrup then our favorite brand is Stirrings.

The Garnish
A Touch Of Christmas: You’ll finish off your spiked eggnog with a dusting of freshly grated nutmeg. We then like to hang a mini candy cane on the side of the glass to give it that final dash of Christmas spirit.
Recommended Candy Canes: Mini Peppermint Candy Canes
What Equipment Should I Use To Make A Rock N’ Nog (Spiked Eggnog)?
The Glass: You can use your favorite Christmas mug to serve this festive drink, but we like to serve our spiked eggnog in a glass Irish coffee mug. There are plenty of great options on Amazon, including these beautiful glasses from Godinger.
Recommended Glass: Godinger Glass Coffee Mugs
Shaken or Stirred: To spike eggnog you really need to give it a good shake to make sure that the alcohol properly mixes with the rest of the ingredients. When using egg and cream in recipes always dry shake first. This just means you shake the ingredients without ice first before adding ice to it for a second shake. If you need a new shaker then we recommend the beautifully designed shakers from Absolut Elyx Boutique. The patterned brass designs are simply stunning.
