What Ingredients Do I Need To Make A Pumpkin Pie Martini?
The Vodka
For this spiked pumpkin pie in a glass it is important that you use a quality vodka. You want something that is going to give you a nice smooth base to your drink. Florida distills some excellent vodkas, so you have plenty to choose from.
Our favorite Florida vodka is Coast made by Kozuba and Sons Distillery which is made exclusively for ABC Fine Wine & Spirits. This great vodka comes in a very affordable 1.75L box, and even better a portion of each sale goes to the Florida Conservation Association to help protect Florida’s coastlines. Cheers to that!
If you want something a bit more premium, then another good option is E11even Vodka. This ultra-smooth premium vodka is the official vodka of the E11even nightclub in Miami. It is also produced by Toast Distillers, one of the few black owned distilling companies.

The Irish Cream Liqueur
We have not come across any Florida distilleries creating this type of alcohol yet, so let us know if any of you have spotted any on your travels around the sunshine state. Baileys is the most well known and comes in all kinds of interesting flavors such as salted caramel, apple pie and even strawberries and cream. They do also have a pumpkin spice version that you could absolutely use in this recipe. If you are doing that then simply replace the ounce of Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup with an extra ounce of the Baileys Pumpkin Spice. Personally, we like to use the Baileys original with Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup as this ends up with a more authentic pumpkin spice flavor.

The Orange Liqueur
Any orange liqueur, like Triple Sec or Cointreau, will work in this recipe, but did you know that Florida has their own local version? Tipplers made by St. Petersburg Distillery uses whole Florida oranges, peel and all. If you are a margarita or cosmopolitan fan, then this a a great addition to your bar cart. We also use it on our Pineapple Margarita and Florida Orange Cosmopolitan recipes.

The Sweetener
Our homemade Pumpkin Spice Simple Syrup is what makes this drink taste like pumpkin pie in a glass. The warming baking spices in this creamy desert-in-a-glass will bring back fond memories of devouring pumpkin pie with friends and family at thanksgiving. This easy simple syrup recipe just involves simmering ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and cloves with canned pumpkin, sugar and water. As well as using it in your fall cocktail recipes you can also use it to make a Pumpkin Spice Latte or even drizzle it over your pancakes. Delicious.

How Should I Serve A Pumpkin Pie Martini?
The Graham Cracker Rim
The graham cracker rim is the pie crust in this cocktail version of a pumpkin pie. You can use Honey Maid, but store brand versions work perfectly too. The cinnamon version is best as it complements and ties together all the pumpkin spice flavors in the drink. Alternatively, you can use plain graham crackers and add in ¼ Tsp of pumpkin spice.
To coat the rim of your glass first place the graham crackers in a freezer bag and crush with the bottom of your cocktail shaker until it looks like breadcrumbs. Then spread onto a small plate. Rub the rim of the martini glass with a little liquid, we use the Irish Cream Liqueur as it seems to stick better than water. Finally, dip the rim of the martini glass in the graham cracker breadcrumbs until well coated.

Shaken or Stirred
Whether a traditional martini should be shaken or stirred is a hot topic and very much open to debate. For any version of a martini that includes juices, simple syrups or liqueurs you definitely want to shake them. With this recipe, shaking will ensure the Irish cream liqueur and simple syrup is properly mixed in. If you are on the hunt for a new shaker for your home bar then we highly recommend the beautifully designed shakers from Absolut Elyx Boutique. The patterned brass designs are stunning. Straight Up Or On The Rocks
A traditional martini is always served straight up, but for this creamy variation it is personal preference. We serve our Pumpkin Spice Martini straight up in a martini glass. Pro tip: be sure to chill the glass first by filling with ice and topping with cold water. When you are ready to serve your martini cocktail, dump out the ice and strain into an ice-cold glass. As this recipe uses a cream liqueur this also works perfectly over ice, so if you prefer then serve in a rocks or highball glass over a handful of ice.
We hope you the Pumpkin Pie Martini recipe below, and as always drink local and drink responsibly. Cheers!
